Porosity Testing using our Compact Test Rig in Marlow – February 2016

The Forestry Commission sought a water supply borehole to supply new upgraded visitor facilities at a Forestry Commission location in Buckinghamshire. To find a suitable supply of water at one of the highest points in the Chiltern Hills, we drilled into the Chalk aquifer 140m below the ground using rotary method of drilling. Today, the water from this borehole keeps the new cafe and the visitor toilets running smoothly for the 350,000 people it attracts each year. There is now an information board at the site to inform and educate visitors about this sustainable natural supply.
